Cassina has four new designs in wood designed by Le Corbusier for Cassina I Maestri Collection. At the showroom in Paris boulevard Saint Germain has presented a world exclusive, consisting of Tabouret, Conférence de Table, Table de travail avec Rayonnages and Portemanteau. The leitmotif of the collection is just the wood. After years of testing of tubular metal, Le Corbusier used the wood, especially in artistic maturity in a new-found closeness with nature, orienting production towards basic objects and archetypes.
The simplicity and ease of any interior is enhanced and enriched by complex processes, such as dovetail joints to the Tabouret, the result of extreme precision construction or pegs molded mushroom Portemanteau revealing the ability of Cassina of “shaping” the wooden furniture.
Cassina continued research into the vast work of Le Corbusier and explore the works of the great architect and designer in the ’50s and made four dwelling fascinating instruments that are developed by Cassina for first time and add to the collection of Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand.
Cassina program is to conduct on every single item of production Le Corbusier, with the usual philological rigor, a passionate research and a careful study of the details and design features through the study of Drawings, sketches and prototypes original work, as always, in collaboration with the Fondation Le Corbusier.
Authentic Wood products are on display at the showroom in Milan’s Via Durini from mid-November.
