At the Cologne Furniture Fair 2011, the brand Ligne Roset presented grillage chair , a model signed by French designer Francois Azambourg. It ‘s a piece constructed of a grid of metal channels that form a small cut obtained by the seat folds and accompanied by a frame of bent steel , it is a manual operation that makes each chair unique. The construction method was very simple: a metal plate with channels offset is folded origami style.
So grillage is a chair that tells the story of its production process from design , includes the folding and creasing. Everything is to the eye, combining a striking design with comfort and ergonomics, using a simple piece entirely in metal . The seat can be covered with a special material, padded and quilted hides the magnets for a secure and for maximum comfort and a warmer. Available in gray, black and blue. Suitable for external use.
François Azambourg dedicates his work to the combination of technical and applied arts. According to his philosophy, a designer must be able to contradict itself without being tied to the style chosen initially. While some held in high regard the theory, is the object that Azambourg gives greater importance. This philosophy is the basis of his creations for the award of the Carte Blanche and EIA of projects for Cappellini, Domeau & Peres , and of course Ligne Roset.
