The route of today’s Fuori Salone 2011 , starting from the wonderful location of the Cloister Umanitaria in Via San Barnaba, crossing the whole area Romana / Tricolor to get to the area Magenta , I am safe to say that luxury is more than ever, “Unusual “what very few have and that may well be within reach of all, what makes our home and we distinguish the good fortune to discover.
Prior to the start-ups, I propose to make George a “stop” by Sissi, for exceptional coffee and talk about the pastries …
We start with carburized Paola Lenti – George expects to be driving with newspaper in hand-homonymous brand well established by the time he has chosen to present its line of rugs, ottomans, sofas, armchairs and furniture outside, in the magical setting of the Cloister ‘Humanitarian – I highly recommend a visit, Paola Lenti, experimenting with materials giving a precise connotation to his pieces, the yarn pass the barrier between inside and outside, and the forms are built with balance, however, playing on the colors. The combined orange pink to fuchsia, lemon yellow and deep green stand out on the lawn of the Cloisters. An enchanted path between external and internal proposals that you enjoy, through the four cloisters, including the cloister of the wisteria, my favorite. In some views, the furniture is lying at the feet of frescoes of 1500 in a harmonious way without detracting from the aesthetic to the two separated only by 600 years of history.
Next blind date: Shaman Shop Via Flame, 5. I had no idea what it was, but from the outside, beyond the window I can breathe an air of “aesthetic and creative.” Entering feel pronounce my name and I recognize the voice of Susan Brandolino, a former colleague of fashion stylist, curator of jewelry – have been kept in the memory of many – of the famous collections of Romeo Gigli. That forgetful! I had talked about his new space, and here we are then stimulated by a super warranty.
My eyes will not let go of the large ceramic pots which are depicted on the faces of exotic looking women. Susan explains her project, a workshop from 4 to distinguished artists and young people Community Saman di Ravenna, coordinated by Cristina potter tune.
Everyday objects from the narrative and poetic, the ” vases / faces “from which I can not take your eyes are designed by Paula Juchem, Brazilian by birth, adoption of Milan. A tribute to a Brazilian woman and three vessels and the three faces of Rita Lee, the queen of Brazilian rock.
And then, many other proposals from other artists designers unusual, poetic and sophisticated.
Starting over at a time of Via Botta, the courtyard is famous for its fashion show rooms, accommodating a group of British designers .
Pinch is the most sophisticated, from the port of entry we see a locker, finally a nice wardrobe, made of slabs of well-channeled wood, but also panels made of wood logs and by now I guess the wall of a house just like this, why not? ? Especially if a house in town, maybe turn a colored plexiglass chair … The imagination ferments, prompted by a thousand proposals.
Other designers exhibiting in various showrooms in Via Botta Cook my perception, until the last match of the series called SCP which produces a range of fabrics with combinations of colors, woven into English. Not bad, other than what our eyes all Italians are used to seeing.
I climb into the car and remember to bring in George Street of Plenty, I question whether it is a joke, laugh, explore the map and I found ourselves in a flash knock. I expect holidays and playfulness, I am rather a mess, I understand that only a Laboratory of food design and events promotes itself.
I go out immediately, George has just lit a cigarette, asks me “It was not interesting?” Off his cigarette and laughing.
We head towards Via Friuli, another fashion show room, the famous Studio Zeta granting the Royal Academy in Eindhoven, the Dutch design academy. A series of ” installations “that are close to an art form pleasant to behold, ancestral ideas and evocative as the great bundle of branches lying on a black platform. Aesthetically very evocative.
We run from Entratalibera, a large shop in Corso Concordia, which includes proposals each year and sets a very original and suggestive.
In the courtyard, huge lamps shaped oriental charm to the unusual combination of peeling walls in excess thereof. Funny tabling Fish Design of designer Gaetano Pesce . The vessel “over-sized shades of green, is set against a series of resin mats also, deep blue, each of which is drawn over a goldfish, placed randomly.
Another frequent theme, the fish and its decorative form. Tissues from Ken Scott , for example, why Fuori Salone are printed and painted with huge fish. Many pottery and dishes for the table have a small or large fish painting here and there.
Through all the space and go down in the basement, where a multitude of lamps, ceiling light face, surrounded by dense vegetation.
How green! Wherever there is a call of nature.
I still long to see the scenery of Entratalibera and, How far back in the car, the legendary George comments, “This should be just fine.”
We move to one of the most eclectic areas in Milan and its international standing – not only at the Fuori Salone – the unusual icon.
A large space made ??up of several rooms and a large courtyard populated by a myriad of people sipping drinks, wine and eat some cake and sausage, surrounded by lamps , objects, vintage furniture.
For one of the entrances, they emerge as real flowers, dishes designed by the Campana brothers for Bernrdaud brother named ad hoc Eurotropiques.
I discovered a brand newly born Italian, OOH LA LAA & CO. – collections of couture design – furniture buffet, table with three feet needle, and so all tables covered with brightly colored buttons, and more … Two entrepreneurs of textile and fashion decided to form a group of creative design and transfer in a sort of atelier of fashion.
Unique handmade pieces, hand-turned wood by skilled craftsmen, but also modern materials such as resine.Non must say, a new idea very well developed.
Through the rooms and overflowing, I like to admire the original installations parked between exposure and the other, including a multitude of orange ties, framed in a structure of cardboard.
On my card is given a small event at the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio, intrigued me and I do lead in the adjacent courtyard, stands a huge glass sculpture by the bust blue and white skirt based on a myriad of roses, the same as adorn the front of this female figure which looked like misitche.
I stooped to read the sign / caption mentions “Santa Rosalia”, design: Jean Blanchaert – known expert gallery in Murano glass – and built by the great master Pino Signoretto.
I never imagined that the eclectic and eccentric Jean Blanchaert could even think of Santa Rosalia. I must remember to ask him how he came up with an idea so unexpected but certainly affected the outcome.
Fuori Salone never ceases to amaze, and increasingly I am convinced that every desertion is a lost opportunity.
Advance into the maze of this fabulous Fuori Salone 2011, search and discover, I’m amazed by the amount of ideas and the ability to give shape to many new creatures, the emergence of new brands and organization structures.
He feels the hard work of many, making the service of all, motivated by a genuine passion for the furniture, objects are our true companions in life, the last we see before turning off the light and the first appearing in our wake.
