On June 14 in Rome the National Innovation Day and, on this important occasion, the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, gave the lamp Hope of Luceplan “Prize of Prizes for innovation”. This prestigious award sponsored by Associazione per il Disegno Industriale-ADI and Confcommercio and Confindustria. The Prize was withdrawn from designer duo of Francisco Gomez Paz and Paolo Rizzatto and Alessandro Sarfatti, CEO Luceplan. Curiosiamo more closely what it is!
The “prize of Prizes for innovation” is an important award sponsored by the Foundation for technological innovation and established at the Ministry for public administration and innovation that is awarded annually to design product that is characterised by innovation and creativity.
For the 2011 Edition, the prize was awarded to Hope designed and conceived by designer duo Francisco Gomez Paz and Paolo Rizzatto for Luceplan, an Italian company founded in 1978 by three architects, Paolo Rizzatto, Riccardo Sarfatti and Sandra Severi, and specialising in the production of lights and lamps of high esign arising from collaboration with important signatures on the international scene.
In collaboration with Francisco Gomez Paz and Paolo Rizzatto was born Hope the suspension lamp. Ispirara the chandelier archetype of classic, Hope is characterised by a contemporary form, light and elegant created through a series of thin lenses, Fresnel, obtained with microprismatura stamped on polycarbonate film Dioptric power equivalent to that of glass, able to multiply the light from the light source. The result is a pleasing effect glitzy dotted with many small reflexes such as the diamond.
