Mabe Chair Furniture, Wood surprises from Botswana

The Maun Windsor chair in wood is one of the surprise produced by the mark Mabe Furniture born as a result of over 10 years of experience in manufacturing custom furniture for commercial purposes in ‘Africa in Botswana. The international launch was in 2006 and has since racked up previews of Milan Design Week, 100% design in London and at ‘International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, where the Maun Windsor chair has been honored with premium for the best craftsmanship, in both 2006 and 2008.

This is a chair made by hand using traditional methods tested, born of hard wood and sustainable forests its modern lines blend with the abstract quality of sculpture African wood. All using a matte finish which further emphasizes the shape of the chair.

Like all products Mabe, The Maun Windsor is made to be ecologically, aesthetically and culturally sustainable, bringing long-term benefits for the local craftsmen and the community through the concept of eco-design.

Mabe has partnered with a selected list of international designers, including household names such as Patricia Urquiola and Claesson Koivisto Rune. The brand uses good design, high levels of craftsmanship, carefully selected raw materials and sustainable development of people as keys to success.

The concept of the designer is Patty Johnson, Canadian concerned interchange between research and design, business and culture. Opera around the world with businesses, manufacturers and young designers to experiment with new types of designs and product collections.
