Sofa Arflex Marechiaro reinterpreted by Markus Benesch


Via Montenapoleone at Fuorisalone 13, Milan, graphic and interior designer Markus Benesch has covered the sofa Marechiaro Arflex on the occasion of an exhibition entitled “The world is flat!”.The new coating resembles closely a wallpaper and it is, taking with him ‘ the message to invite people to use it and even be able to write on. The idea was born to a new skin for a representative product of Made in Italy, a classic Italian design product designed by Mario Marenco in 1976 but the essential forms of this sofa, make a product still relevant today.

Marechiaro is a series of sessions armchaircomposed, sofa two or three seats pouf, and made multilayer base coupled with fiber and coated. It is surrounded by of modular elements, to create infinite compositions, all completely removable covers, except for the leather version. Each item (seat, backrest, armrest) is padded and upholstered.

The internal structure of backrests and armrests is in tubular metallic painted; the polyurethane upholstery in expanded, non-deformable differentiated density and fibre lining and metal pins.

Markus Benesch, being young designer a has already collaborated with the most important design firms: bedsdesigned, cabinets, chairs and sofas, stools, lamps, tables, mirrors, glasses, vases, home accessories and Office in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Spain, Italy, Japan.
