The challenge of wood - new work by Johan Lindsten

The concept builds on the opportunities offered by the wood as a material design and the ability of Swedish designer Johan Lindsten to transform the limitations into advantages. Transforming the inevitable cracks in the process of twisting it into something aesthetically valid, and using different techniques of veneering to overcome problems resulting from the downturn.

A challenge declined in chairs and lamps, with inspiration coming from the lights of old movies, cottage pine and nature itself. So the chair comes from a survey on the relationship between the size of the backrest and seat, while the lamps are interpreted as if they were living creatures: the shade is characterized by fresh wood, which facilitates the formation of cracks during drying and offers glimpses of light through the color, creating a particular effect and welcoming.
